The Ensemble:
The Atlantic Saxophone Quartet is a unique small ensemble made up of advanced college and high school student musicians guided by a professional player/teacher. The ensemble uses both the standard saxophone quartet set up which consists of two alto saxophones, one tenor saxophone, and one baritone saxophone, and the contemporary saxophone quartet set up which consists of one soprano saxophone, one alto saxophone, one tenor saxophone, and one baritone saxophone.
Purpose:
The quartet's purpose is to expose the student musicians to advanced rehearsal techniques, small ensemble playing, and public performances. The widest spectrum of musical styles are employed (classical, swing, musicals, opera, ragtime, etc.) to expose the musicians to the greatest variety of music possible.
Educational And Practical Mission:
The Atlantic Saxophone Quartet has been established to provide aspiring student saxophonists with a rich and varied performing venue and a way of earning money for their future education. All monies earned by student ensemble members will be used for future school or college related expenditures. When you have the Atlantic Saxophone Quartet perform at your event, you are supporting the future of these musicians and music education itself.
The quartet is available for chamber music concerts as well as for weddings, parties, festivals, church, and promotional events.
